Tooling solutions for every stage of machining

From bar feeder tooling to pick-off collets, DUNNER SA tools equip automatic lathes at every stage of the manufacturing process.

Regardless of the material being machined, the company’s guide bushings and collets are developed to ensure optimal quality.

Guide bushings

Guide bushings

Our guide bushings are the result of our expertise and have been produced in our Moutier facilities since 1935.

They feature inserts in carbide, NewSurf ceramic, or bronze depending on the material, and can be customized with different slot shapes or guiding lengths. Silicone sealing can also be applied to prevent chip penetration.

Ultra precision (UP) bushings (max. 5 microns) and ultimate ultra precision (UU) versions (max. 2 microns) are available.

Collets

Collets

Main spindle collets, also called feed collets, are either manufactured by us or supplied by Schaublin. DUNNER SA is authorized to modify Schaublin products for boring, profiling, grooving, or other customizations.

High-quality collets ensure optimal machining precision, even when using guide bushings. To improve pushing force, grooving or knurling can be applied.

Collets are available in ultra precision (UP) with max. 5 microns runout, or ultimate ultra precision (UU) with max. 2 microns.

Pick-off collets

Pick-off collets

Sub-spindle collets, also known as pick-off or back-working collets, are either manufactured in-house or produced by our partners Schaublin and MASA Tool. These partners allow us to adapt their products for boring, profiling, grooving, or other customizations.

Collets produced in our workshops are available in steel or equipped with carbide or bronze inserts, depending on the material to be clamped.

Schaublin products offer a complete range of standard collets or extended nose versions to facilitate machining operations. MASA Tool’s Microconic system provides a high-precision alternative, allowing very fine adjustment of gripping force. MASA Tool also offers overgrip collets, allowing shoulder clearance up to 4 mm larger in diameter.

Tool holder tooling

Tool holder tooling

Tool holder tooling includes tool blocks and collets, especially ER collets, suitable for all types of automatic lathes. These components are also available for machining centers and milling machines, according to CAPTO, HSK, or ISO standards.

DUNNER is an official distributor of the full Rego-Fix program, globally recognized for product quality. To meet urgent needs, DUNNER always keeps ER collets in stock, as they are the most requested items.

Bar feeder tooling

Bar feeder tooling

Bar feeder tooling includes specific collets, rotating tips, and many other accessories.

These tools have been manufactured since 1986 in Switzerland (Lajoux) by our partner Vogatec, for bar feeders such as FMB, IEMCA, LNS, and many others.

Clamping heads

Clamping heads

The clamping heads are designed for lathes and multi-spindle machines and are manufactured by our partner DT Technologies, which also provides a full range of accessories required for their implementation.

With extensive experience in this field, DT Technologies supports DUNNER both in distribution and customization of these products.

DunnAir

DunnAir

The DunnAir system is the result of several years of development and continuous improvement of our expertise in guide bushing technology. This system, which replaces the machine’s original rotating guide bushing holder, solves issues related to material variation or seizing and improves, among others, milling, hobbing and whirling operations by reducing vibrations caused by traditional guide bushings.

The DunnAir system uses patented AirFlex guide bushings, ensuring centered guidance even with materials with h11 tolerances. It is perfectly suited for machining difficult materials on automatic lathes, such as plastics, extruded aluminum, welded steel tubes, etc.

This system also significantly increases the lifespan of cutting tools on equipped machines, by up to 30%. Furthermore, since the guiding force is controlled via the machine’s CNC, cycles and guiding forces can be dynamically optimized depending on operations, while minimizing wear of the AirFlex bushings.

Insert holder tooling

Insert holder tooling

The insert holders we distribute are developed and manufactured by Swiss Tool Systems.

The SWISS-MICRO product is an innovative quick-change system designed to reduce machine downtime and simplify insert changes, often made difficult by tool positions in the gang plate. Thanks to the SWISS-MICRO system, everything is done comfortably and efficiently, with precision down to a few microns.

The range includes square or round holders, available in metric and inch sizes, equipped with an integrated coolant connection to ensure optimal cutting-edge cooling for each tool.
